We are on the hunt for ourselves.
We're in the weeds looking for the melody that will solve a mystery inside us. That's what it all boils down to, and that's the responsibility Othmg is here to help artists handle.
Artists want success. They have questions. They feel the expectations that others have of them. There is pressure coming from the outside-in and from the inside-out.
It is this point where Othmg steps in and asks, "Well, what is it that you have to say? What is success to you? You have questions about who you want to be, but give us the answer to who are you today?"
What is our starting point?
This is what Othmg is all about - breaking the passion down to the core and finding what we have to work with. That is where the magic is, and when the answers arrive.
The artist inside begins to emerge and stake out a position. And, instead of your environment taking all of what you have and telling you who you are and where to stand, you make space for yourself by coming as you are - standing tall, with confidence beaming from within - not fully formed, but not allowing yourself to be formed into a fool, either.
One of our mantras is, "If you don't wanna know the truth, then don't ask us."
The way we see it, parents will be bringing their children to Othmg - and young adults will be coming to us for guidance; and we need to point out to them why fame and fortune does not afford you peace of mind. It cannot solve your restlessness. And it, alone, cannot bring you satisfaction within. In fact, if you work with us, we will make sure you have all of that BEFORE the world even knows your name.
We make soldiers for the army of art.
But, what we understand is that an army is only as good as its individuals. So, we get down into the pit and wrestle with people who say they want to be stars, they want to be rich, they want to be loved, they feel what they have to say is important - and we stop them right there and say, "Well, write it down. Put it in a song. Shout it out! Tell us WHY we should let your star shine down on us. WHY should we pay you to do it? WHY should we love you? Love is not free. It costs us to give it, it costs you to have it, it costs you to keep it. WHY are you so important that an audience should devote its time to seeing, hearing, and falling in love with you?"
Othmg helps the artist place the pieces of these puzzles for themselves - LONG before asking a record label to support them or a music streamer to play their music. We say support yourself, first, by going inside yourself and finding your worth. Then, it will become clear why anyone should believe in you…
